Any exercise is better than none

Mike and I sign our family up with a doctor here in Lethbridge right after Makayla was born. The first thing that he wanted to do was physicals for the whole family which included blood work. The result came back and showed that we both have higher than it should be bad colesterol. Go figure considering this is our diet:
We go through huge costco size bags of broccoli, spinach, strawberries and blueberries every three to four weeks. At least 20-30 limes and lemons a month. Eat mostly chicken with some lean beef and pork sparingly, use olive oil for the majority of our cooking and only have dessert once a week. We have fruit and yogurt for snack options and rarely ever have junk food. We only spent 28 dollars in resturants last month and that was for a date where we shot some holes and got ice cream after wards. Mike rides his bike to work as often as he can and I have an at home exercise program and also have been learning belly dance.
The doctor gave us the challenge of three months to lower our cholesterol and then there will be another blood test. So we are going to try to get more active and see how that goes. I found some pretty cool ideas for how to form active habits. I am sure most of us have been in the situation where we know we need to have a more active life syle (sedentary life syle affect both your health, happiness or overall well being and it is a huge problem in our culture) but we may think I don't enjoy sports and I hate going to the gym. Or we start with all these huge goals only to quite in a month or two. I thought it was pretty cool the idea that I found and it is that you can start by changing your habits in the little things to form a moderately active life syle so activeness in daily activity just becomes a part of you and then you will have alot more energy and enthusiasm for making more and more exercise a way of life and grow into an active lifestyle. Here are some examples of habits to form: (when i saw these Grandpa David Innes came to mind, he is an awesome example of being active and making exercise a way of life and part of everything he does and he is reaping the reward with great health, I want to be just like him).
.when talking on the phone, walk or pace
.park in the back of the parking lot instead of looking for the closest spot
.take the stairs instead of the elevator
.get off the bus a stop early
.make it a goal to take at least a ten minute walk everyday
.everytime you go grocery shopping walk the entire store, up and down every aisle
.do your own yardwork
.develop a time table for watching computer, video game or T.V.
. replace time you would do these things with exercise
.be active for at least 10 minutes right after you eat (clean up immediately is one way to do this and has other benefits of an always clean house) this helps with metabolism.
.play with your children doing active things
.take walking breaks at work
.choose active entertainment
.choose active vacations

Change your lifesyle through the little things and lengthen and impove the quality of your life.
