Makayla's Blessing and Trip to the Calgary Zoo

Mike gave Makayla a beautiful blessing. The whole occasion had a very special feeling. We had a dinner with our two families and relatives after church. Thank you so much for everyones help, it all came together nicely and we had a great time catching up with everyone and of course, letting everyone meet Makayla.

The next day we took a family trip to the calgary zoo. The weather was perfect, warm and sunny with little wind. The nicest day so far this season and now today it is rainy and cold so I guess we got lucky. My mother came along and she was a big help with the girls, thanks mom! Where we first entered the zoo there was some construction going on. They are building a new penguin exhibit. The contruction was noisy and Jada spent the first 10 minutes saying "I'm scary, I'm scary" and being really clingy but it didn't take long for her to get into it. We saw the lions and tigers and bears oh my! But Jada saw the hippos and gorillas oh my! She was scared of those two but not the lions, tigers and bears, go figure. My mom and I love loved the monkeys, expecially the little pigmy ones with white afros and painted faces. Mike really liked the cougars and tigers. There were a few animals just wandering the zoo. We saw a peekock several times, it walked around the tables where we had stopped for lunch and Jada got to see it show off it's tail feathers for a female walking by. It was a really fun time for all. We went out for seafood after at red lobster and then headed home. We had been gone for 12 hours and were glad to see home. Mike and I soaked out feet and then were in bed by 10 p.m. Great day!
